Introduction
Hi there, in this Blog post, I am sharing my experience of writing the ISC2 CyberSecurity Examination.
I started researching the web about the Cybersecurity Certifications and the one’s which suited my current profile.
I wanted to enter the information security field, not just by picking some random courses but to actually get certified and be part of the global community.
I found a very useful examination which had just launched recently by ISC2.
ISC2 is a global community of Cyber Security professionals, it’s a body where professionals from all walks of life join. There are PHD’S, Millitary veterans, Technologists, and IT Professionals who are part of this huge community.
ISC2 Develops and Conducts Information Security Examinations for Professionals and it’s recognized by the Department of Defence (DOD).
Following are the examinations under the belt of ISC2:
- ISC2 – CC Certified in CyberSecurity
- ISC2 – SSCP Systems Security Certified Professional
- ISC2 – CCSP Certified Cloud Security Professional
- ISC2 – CISSP
and there are others as well within the Risk Management and the Governance, Risk and Compliance domain.
I started out with the ISC2 CC, because I didn’t have the formal experience in the Cyber Security Domain and I wanted to get into this industry and meet similar minded professionals across the globe.
It’s really fortunate that I got to know several professionals by becoming an ISC2 Member.
Let’s dive into how I cleared my ISC2 CC Examination with over 97% out of 100. The passing criteria is 70% which essentially is you must get a score of 700/1000 to pass this certification.
ISC2 CC – Certified in Cyber Security Exam Prep Strategy
The ISC2 CC Exam is moderate on the difficulty front if you are completely new to cybersecurity or technology concepts.
For Folks who are familiar with the fundamentals of technology and security, like the IT and CS Graduates, this exam might be an easy ride for you. It’s simple.
I wouldn’t suggest this certification for folks who are already equipped, but still if you would like to earn it, then it’s fine. It might add a boost on your Cybersecurity resume.
I do provide one to one private consulting and training for the ISC2 CC Examination, so far mentored over 200+ candidates from different countries. Check out my ISC2 CC Training Page.
